Hela: of Mice & Magic is a wholesome 3D co-op adventure from Windup Games, the Umeå studio founded by the creators of Unravel. You play a mouse familiar helping a kind, ailing witch restore harmony to a handcrafted open world inspired by northern Sweden — gathering ingredients, brewing potions and solving physics puzzles, with no combat anywhere.
When does Hela release?
Hela launches on December 1, 2026, simultaneously on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. A limited physical Harmony Edition is planned for consoles via Microids. A free demo has been live on Steam, Epic and the Xbox PC App since October 8, 2026.
Is Hela on Game Pass?
Yes. Hela is a day-one Xbox Game Pass release for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, with Xbox Play Anywhere support (one purchase covers console and PC with shared progress).
Does Hela have multiplayer?
Yes. Hela supports solo play, 2-player local split-screen and online co-op for up to four players, with drop-in/drop-out so friends can join or leave any time. Solo players get the Shade System, which summons magical copies to help with multi-mouse puzzles.
